Ember of the Hollow

Ember of the Hollow is the rare mobile RPG that respects your attention. The world is split into small handcrafted zones you explore between story beats, and the writing has real personality — characters crack jokes, disagree, and occasionally surprise you.

Combat is turn-based but brisk, with a timing element on attacks that keeps you tapping at the right moments. The skill trees are generous without being overwhelming, and I never felt pushed to grind. The progression respects that you might play in twenty-minute chunks.

Visually it's clean and readable on a phone, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. I lost a weekend to this one and didn't regret a minute.
